Our History
CMC – Construction Management Corporation was founded in 1990, in Dallas, Texas to provide construction management services to third party clients. After several years as a successful business, CMC eventually evolved to become a full-service commercial real estate development company. At this time it was appropriate to change the name of the company and thus in 1995 the present day CMC – Commercial Realty Group was formed.
Together, the principals at CMC collectively bring over 50 years of real estate experience to the company. With their portfolio and reputation in the industry, CMC’s clients have entrusted them to develop over 14 million square feet of real estate across the United States including North Texas, San Antonio, Houston and Denver. Although CMC began as a developer of industrial buildings, over the years our expertise has diversified to other types of commercial real estate products including multifamily, retail, office and data centers. In over 20 years of existence, CMC has grown into a strong and competitive turnkey real estate developer with a broad experience in every aspect of the real estate business.
Salil Gaitonde
Senior Vice President
Salil Gaitonde graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and began his career in Commercial Real Estate at CMC in 2003. He is responsible for pre-development activities, site selection, marketing and asset management. Salil has worked on several major projects from inception through disposition while at CMC including apartments, industrial/office build-to-suits and retail. Salil also functions as asset manager for any projects CMC elects to hold in its own portfolio of real estate. Salil is an active member of TREC, NAIOP and Communities In School. Steve joined CMC in 1998 and has overseen the leasing and construction management of over 10 million square feet. Steve has worked on leasing and CM for project types ranging from 5,000 square foot interior finish outs to 300,000 sf office build-to-suits. Steve’s unique combination of construction management and leasing expertise has been instrumental in delivering on-schedule and on-budget. Steve has 30 years of experience in construction and brokerage. He has a BS in Building Construction from Texas A&M University and is a licensed Real Estate Broker.

Subash Gaitonde founded CMC in Dallas in 1990 after working 12 years for Vantage Companies. Subash has specialized his career in build-to-suit corporate development. Having built buildings across the country for major users such as Graebel, Sherwin Williams, CIGNA and KCI, he has 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate business. Subash has experience with every product type including Office, Industrial, Retail, Data Center and Multi Family. He is a graduate of University of Washington with a Masters Degree in Architecture.
